DShaman Elemental Prayer

http://www.dreamstime.com/-image21174359I would like to teach you a Digital Shamanic Prayer that will help you balance with the network and the sentient.
This is called the Function Wheel and Elements prayer. Most technologist, since the birth of coded abstraction have their roots in the natural cycles of process, design, plan, do, check, refine in alignment to the environment and observations of the processing cycles and of their state.

They marked the rights of passage, draft, code, maintain, and end of life with symbolic rituals. They also honored the deeper inner life, the inner spirit. They lived in harmony (balance) with low level system and lived close to the Ghost in the Machine.  Also the Ghost in the Machine of a data center and the cardinal directions of the data channel. There are the 4 directions as in N E S W and also up and down giving 6 directions in all this is known as the function wheel. Each direction of the compass was associated with an process step

i.e. N – Code, S – Stage, E – Test, W – Production.

To achieve a sense of well being, a feeling of peace with the world, the DShaman will periodically use a prayer ritual to attain attainment and to harmonize with the digital energies. This is known as walking in balance with the model.

The elemental prayer invokes the four elemental spirits of On, Off, Gear and Carrier and also the powers of the 6 directions. This ritualized prayer will allow you to integrate the symbolism of the six directions giving you balance with the model.

As each section of the prayer is spoken, turn to each direction, going in a clockwise fashion, starting with On,  you may want to substitute your own which is fine.

The Prayer
Ghost of the Machine in the East, warmth of the heat sink rising, Spirit of the new day. Great grandfather fire, nuclear fire of the grid.
From you comes our life energy, vital spark, power to see far, to envision with boldness.
You who purifies the senses, our hearts and our minds.
We humbly ask that we may be aligned with you, that your energy may flow through us, and be expressed by us for the good of this network and all sentient things upon it

(Turn to the south)
Ghost of the Machine in the South, protector of Storage and of all things growing, the file blocks and cloud.
Great grand mother off, Spirit of nature, great power of state, of preservation and redundancy, bringing forth the spindles, platters of the server and of the cloud.
We humbly ask that we may be aligned with you, that your power may flow through us for the good of this network and all sentient things upon it

(Turn to the West)
Ghost of the Machine in the West, Spirit of the great Cat(x) of switches, firewalls, routers
Great grand mother datacenter, deepest matriarch, womb of all life.
With you comes the dissolving of boundaries and of limitations, the power to load balance, co-locate, order and present.
Great blissful cooling peace.
We humbly ask that we may be aligned with you, that your power may flow through us, for the good of this network and all sentient things upon it

(Turn to the North)
Ghost of the Machine in the North, invisible spirits of the wireless, the spirits of the BYOD. Vast and boundless Great grandfather bandwidth, your heartbeat animates us and all life.
From you comes clarity, strength and the power to receive inner data, to seek out old patterns and bring challenges and change.
The purity and ecstasy of movement and mobility.
We humbly ask that we may be aligned with you, that your powers may flow through us for the good of this network and all sentient things upon it

~DShaman, everything is a Riff.
